Bitsiel B.V. (hereinafter referred to as: "we" or "Bitsiel"), is responsible for the processing of personal data as reflected in this privacy statement. This includes the processing of data through our website https://www.bitsiel.com/.
We are the so-called data controller for the processing of this data within the meaning of the Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming ("AVG"). We process your data carefully and in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the AVG.

Personal data we process
We process personal data of (contact persons of) our former, current as well as potential customers, suppliers and other relations, of job applicants, as well as of website visitors. We obtain your data (i) from you, (ii) from third parties (such as customers and supply chain partners) or (iii) from public sources, such as the KVK (Chamber of Commerce).
Below is an overview of the personal data we process:
- Basic information such as your first and last name, title, gender;
- Contact information such as your e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, the company you work for (if any) and your position;
- Financial information, such as IBAN/bank account number;
- IP address and statistical data about your use of our website;
- Personal data you give us when you apply for a job with us, such as a cover letter, CV, date of birth, educational and career information;
- Any other personal data we obtain from or about you that we use for the purposes listed below.
We do not always process all of the above data, it depends on the type of relationship, the service involved and (if applicable) the consent you have given us.
For what purpose we process personal data
Bitsiel processes your personal data for the following purposes:
Marketing and acquisition objectives
We may process your personal data for sending newsletters, invitations to our (online) events and other marketing communications that may be relevant to you.
The fulfillment of an contract or agreement
We process your data to the extent necessary in connection with the products or services provided by us, including the exchange of personal data for quotations, execution and completion of an order, service request or task.
Meeting legal obligations
We process your data to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations. Depending on our relationship with you, the law requires us, for example, to provide information to the tax authorities, public records and regulators.
Job applications and recruitment
We process the data you share with us when you apply for a job with us (via email/post, our website or via social media) or that we receive through recruiters in order to contact you for the purpose of our application process and to process your application. We also process data in connection with (a registration for) one of our meetings/events.
Camera surveillance
There is camera surveillance in and around Bitsiel's premises for security purposes. This is announced using recognizable signs in the relevant (outdoor) areas. The purpose of camera surveillance is to protect the safety of Bitsiel's employees and visitors and to secure company property and goods. The camera images will be deleted within 24 hours.
Use and improvement of our website
We process statistical data on visits to and use of our website. We do this in order to analyze and improve the content, layout and use of our website.
Other processing purposes
We also process your data to address any questions or complaints.
Based on which legal principles we process personal data
We process your personal data on the basis of one or more of the following legal principles:
- The fulfilment of a contract with you;

- A legitimate interest;

Sharing personal data

- clients and customers of Bitsiel;

In addition, if the third party with whom your data is shared is considered a processor within the meaning of the AVG, we will enter into a processor agreement with that third party.
Transfer of personal data outside the European Union
We process your data only within the European Economic Area ("EEA"). We also do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EEA.
How long we store personal data
We retain your personal data in accordance with the AVG and specific mandatory legal retention periods. Data will not be kept longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected and to comply with legal obligations.
Your privacy rights
Based on the terms of the AVG, you have a number of rights. You have the right to request us to inspect, rectify, erase, restrict and transfer your personal data. We may not (be able to) comply with your request. For example, because the processing of certain personal data is required to comply with our legal obligations, or because of other exceptions, such as the rights and freedoms of third parties or the legitimate interests of Bitsiel. Should we not (be able to) comply with a particular request, we will of course inform you of our reasons.
To the extent that the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. Any withdrawal of your consent shall not affect the lawfulness of previous processing based on it.
You also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority: the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens ("AP"). Of course, we would appreciate it if you would contact us first, so we might find a solution together.
Security of your personal data
We take the protection of your personal data seriously and take appropriate security measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification.
